The electric power industry is undergoing a major transformation.
Bureaucrats set multiple policy goals, such as ensuring stable supply, decarbonizing, and promoting competition, but their priorities change from phase to phase, leading to confusion. Coupled with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, current policies lack coherence and order, making it difficult to foresee the medium- to long-term business environment.
Meanwhile, the electric power system reform has failed. In order to promote the entry of new electric power companies and the introduction of renewable energy, a market system was created that favors these companies. As a result of the disadvantageous position of power supply owners, investment in power sources has stagnated and power supply shortages are showing signs of becoming chronic.
Gradually, more and more stakeholders are becoming aware of these problems and are beginning to understand the need for improvement. To avoid infrastructure disruption, the power industry must take the initiative to overcome policy failures.
We believe it is our mission to correctly foresee the course of the electric power industry in the midst of this turmoil.
